Licensed manufacturer Zenabis Ltd. has entered into a distribution venture with PEI Cannabis to provide adult-use cannabis through the state.
The Prince Edward Island Cannabis Control Corporation manages the performance of four cannabis retail locations and also an e-commerce platform, notes an announcement from Zenabis Global, a manufacturer of both recreational and medical cannabis with centers in New Brunswick, B.C. and Nova Scotia.
Selling under Zenabis’ Namaste brand, the merchandise will include dried blossom, milled cannabis and pre-rolls. The business expects it’s going to start providing PEI cannabis in February “to help meet recreational adult-use distribution needs, which both parties expect to increase as product demand grows and shifts into new categories when and as permitted by applicable laws, such as edibles (including beverages) and concentrates (including in cartridges),” the announcement reports.
As of Jan. 17, 2019, Zenabis has secured purchase orders from government and third party retailers/distributors from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, B.C., Saskatchewan and the Yukon Territory.
On Jan. 11, 2019, the business reports that Zenabis received approval for 2 extra blossom rooms and 13 additional chambers for cannabis actions. Since last October, “five additional flower rooms and 19 total rooms have been approved by Health Canada for cannabis activities and are in operation,” it adds.
